The Wolfeboro Town Manager and Select Board have admitted that the Town of Wolfeboro website is complicated, unreliable, confusing, and disorganized. CFW has attempted to highlight the current issues for citizens.
The Town website will be upgraded at the end of 2025, but in the meantime, CFW has decided to streamline a guide to support citizens who need to stay informed.
Here are existing resources in one place for citizens' research and engagement:

In-person meetings at Town Hall or Library:
For speaking up or being present in meetings.
The Public is always welcome, and citizens’ presence is significant and impactful. Public comment is part of almost every agenda, depending on the rules and procedures of the particular Board or Committee.
Public Comment:
Speaking up to ask questions, provide input, or raise an issue is a valued component of seeking transparency and accountability from public officials. Supporting fellow citizens by stating a simple agreement or adding to their comments is also effective. The boards are trending to listen more actively. CFW believes this trend is due to more citizens speaking up at ongoing meetings and the Deliberative Session. Probing and presenting points of view by citizens is good for our town.
Citizen Petitions:
For a group to make a request or public statement to a Board using multiple signatures for added impact.
Citizens' Petition Warrant Articles:
In NH, a citizen petition allows residents to propose warrant articles or questions to be voted on at town or school district meetings. It's a form of direct democracy where voters can suggest changes to local laws, budgets, or policies without going through elected officials. If the petition gets enough valid signatures, it must be placed on the ballot for consideration by
voters.
Emails/letters to the Select Board or other boards:
This is to convey your message and ensure it is part of the record.
Direct your email or letter to all members of that entire board. If appropriate, CC: the appropriate town staff member. Sign with your name and Wolfeboro Address.
